The road to introducing Power Waffles at Farro Fresh Auckland was one paved with dedication and meticulous market research. As new players in the entrepreneurial field, we encountered our fair share of challenges, particularly when it came to pinpointing our audience. Our ultimate goal was clear from the start: to design packaging that broke the mold of the frozen food aisle.


Unpacking the Design

Surveying the frozen goods landscape, we were met with a common sight—aisles filled with similar, cluttered packaging designs that bombarded customers with an excess of details. It was evident that to make an impact, we had to diverge from the norm. Our strategy? Minimalism. We chose a stark, two-colour scheme for each Power Waffles flavour, crafting a visual identity that not only popped off the shelf but also resonated with the core essence of our health-centric product.


Nutritional Clarity Meets Visual Appeal

When it comes to healthy eating, transparency is key. Consumers don't just want to know what they're eating—they need to know. Our packaging foregrounds the essential—calories, protein, fats, and carbs—without any unnecessary noise. This clear, upfront nutritional display is what today's informed consumers seek out, and it has been instrumental in drawing in our clientele.

We wanted more than just standout packaging; we desired a connection with our customers. Enter the "Waffle Man"—a character who embodies the energetic and pure essence of Power Foods. In the midst of 2021's global lockdown, a visionary idea took shape between the kitchen and the home office of two entrepreneurial siblings—us. Our creation, Power Foods, was born out of necessity, recognizing a glaring need in the bustling yet health-conscious lives of many. Power Foods’ mission was simple: to offer delicious, nutritious, and convenient eating options for the always-on-the-go individual. And so, Power Waffles was introduced to the world.
